Device Managers
This layer of management solutions provides the easiest and direct access to any system that need to be
managed. Understanding the solution and creating the easiest to use and appropriate management is what we
bring to the table. Here are the few different types of device managers that we have experience building:
Front Panel Configuration / Monitor: This type of management relies on simple push buttons to enter the
configuration data and LED/LCD to provide various monitoring feedback.
Command Line Interface (CLI) : Whether it is direct serial port based Interface to configure device or it is
modem based remote configuration interface CLI are most commonly built device management solution. Our
experience in building Cisco-like CLI and native CLI can certainly help you define and build appropriate
architecture. The key goal here in creating CLI is to make it completely idiot-proof so that anyone can
intuitively operate that.
SNMP V2/V3 Agent: Most enterprise network management solutions have built-in capability to configure and
monitor independent device MIBs and track the SNMP traps. By building this capability, one can provide more
flexible approach of management to enterprise administrators.
HTTP Browser: There are number of ways one can build HTTP browser based management. We can help you
select the right one including making the choice of whether to use embedded database or not. Our experience
has proven that building HTTP browser requires building appropriate security scheme to protect the system.
XML: This file based or real time command based interface can either be built independently or in
conjunction with any of the above mentioned solution. This also makes it easy to build enterprise or service
provider management on top of it for larger and more scaleable consistent policy enforcement.
Syslog: Syslog based logging is primarily used for monitoring and reporting. Syslog provides fairly open and
flexible standard primarily for logging and reporting.
Enterprise Managers
This management layer is created primarily to manage the system from overall enterprise point of view and not
focusing on individual device. It relies on underlined transparent device management capabilities to control
and monitor devices.
Centralized Policy Management: The mantra here is to ensure consistent policy across all devices whether it is
for networking systems or it is for security systems. Providing the consistent policy delivers much better
manageability to enterprise administrator.
Scaleable Logging & Reporting: When it comes to manage large amount of logging, real-time monitoring or
reporting data, the architecture must be built to scale. Our team can help you build highly scaleable solution
for your enterprise management.
Enterprise OSS Integration with CRM, ENMS, … : There are number of ways to report the problems with
devices or systems and building right type of middleware solution can help you integrate this directly into your
CRM or ENMS. This data can also be pulled into various enterprise management portal or dashboard for
administrator to monitor these systems globally.
Role Based Control and Audit: Most enterprise faces some type of government regulation for IT data reporting.
If you are working with customers’ sensitive data or you are working employees private medical records, you
have to provide appropriate level role based controlled access and associated audit. We can help design

Service Provider Managers
This layer of management is all about building appropriate level of abstractions in your systems so that service

Service Management: This abstract management layer focuses on managing service as compared to devices.

offer more flexibility.
Customer Management: This abstract management layer focuses on managing customers as compared to
devices. Associating this concept along with system virtualization also become very useful feature in providing

abstraction become even more critical.
Service Provisioning Portal: This portal is all about providing very large scale self-management portal to

OSS Integration – Trouble Ticketing, Billing, etc.. : This management solution integrates any of the device
management solution to service provider operational support systems such as Billing, Trouble Ticketing, etc

devices from OSS and monitoring data can be pulled in to OSS.
